San Andreas, formerly known as the Republic of San Andreas is the most populous state in the United States of America. San Andreas is based on the real-life state of California, and is located in south-western USA.
The area of San Andreas was first claimed by the Spanish Empire and in the early 1800s, became a part of Mexico. The city of Los Santos was established in 1781, under Spanish control and Blaine County was formed in 1823. San Andreas fell into the control of the American colonists following a war in the mid 1800s, establishing the San Andreas Republic. Los Santos County was established in 1889, several years after the founding of Blaine County. In the 20th century, San Andreas became the world center of culture, film industry, industry, hippie culture, politics, business, information technology and computing.
The beaver is the official animal of San Andreas.
