History[]

Ancient history[]

Modern-day New Alcacer is located in the site of the former Beiljio town of Gr'frufn; which was a highly agricultural town, and it's proximity to the river and forests made it a large center for civilization.

At some point in time, historians say that in the 1200s, the Beiljios mass migrated to the coast of the sea, abandoning the town. A smaller tribe of natives, called the Los Servantinos by the Spanish missionaries lived in the area constituting today's New Alcacer from the mid 1400s till the mid 1500s. They all were forced to move northwards to the coast to work in Spanish plantations.

Colonial period[]

The Viceroy of the Viceroyalty of New Catalonia allowed Spanish planter and slaver Llorenzo de Santángel to buy large lands in the Viceroyalty to expand his plantation and slave business. Over 4000 Alconbrians were brought to the site of future New Alcacer to create the farming settlement Surgranjas in 1679. de Santángel forced the slaves to work in his sugarcane, timber, vegetable and rubber plantations, and used boats to navigate the Mrvon river to transfer the goods to Puerto Pedro. After de Santángel's death in 1696, the Spanish Army took over the control of the city, and built a barracks and laid plans for the urban development, turning the settlement to a fully fledged township.

In 1669, a satellite town named Cassilades was created nearly five miles north of Surgranjas, hosting a Spanish military garrison, a fort, a prison and a dockyard created to project the Empire's power in the area against the natives. Both Cassilades and Surgranjas faced a continuous amount of expansion, and had common borders by 1751. Governor Pablo Navasco decided to combine both towns and christened it Cassilades-Surgranjas in the same year.

The city was renamed New Alcacer in 1752, and the city had a population of a million in 1769, most of whom were Spanish settlers. The economy of the city began to widely grow, and after the discovery of mines of gold and other minerals, the population witnessed a massive increase. King Charles III and the royal family visited the city in 1770.

War of Independence[]

The city was attacked by the Altivebrian Revolutionary Army during the Altivebrian War of Independence. New Alcacer, Gvonn and Unforto were the only major cities with an Alconbrian majority soon after the formation Altivebrio.

Early Modern period[]

New Alcacer became a part of Altivebrio in 1821, and became one of the country's important cities. In 1959, the city underwent several moderinzation projects approved by then President of Altivebrio, David Matthew Gorez.

Modern period[]

New Alcacer became a part of the Territory of Alconbria in 1995, and became of the capital of that territory in 2004, and soon became the capital of the newly found Federal State of Alconbria in 2008.
