Two journalists, David Hardy from Liverpool, United Kingdom and Zoey Becker from Toronto, Canada were executed by the Alconbrian Army after an arbitrary 'fast track' court found them guilty of high-profile espionage and a conspiracy to aid the Free Alconbria Group in overthrowing the Government of Alconbria.

The executions caused a backlash from the Canadian and British governments, resulting in a diplomatic crisis which lasted till 2014, after the Alconbrian government payed $5,000,000 to the families of victims, and accepted limited responsibility.

Background[]

Zoey Becker (born 19 May, 1975), a native of Toronto worked as a chief reporter for the Toronto Chronicle. David Hardy (born 22 August 1988) was a British citizen born to a Canadian mother, who has been living in Canada since his father's death in 2009. He joined the Chronicle in 2011, and began working under Zoey in 2012.

Zoey, who identifies herself as a political liberal, was a member of the HRAM, an organization which advocated for equal rights for Malpuro Alconbrians in Alconbria. HRAM was banned by Alconbria on 2012, and the organization's office in Harfa was demolished to the ground by the People's Security Force, the paramilitary wing of the Alconbria People's Party.
